Churchill's Library Learning Center promotes the joy of reading and learning.
Library programming has changed from flexible scheduling to a yearly fixed schedule. Library is now a special like art, music and PE.
For 2011-2012, grades 4 and 5 are scheduled into the library once a week for 45 minutes. This longer class schedule provides time for book talks, an information fluency lesson, individual research or small group work on a project, followed by book selection and independent reading.
Grades 1, 2 and 3 are scheduled to visit the library twice each week for twenty minutes.
Kindergarten classes are scheduled once a week for a thirty minute story time and book checkout.
Kindergarten parents are welcome to assist with their child's library class. We especially need bilingual Spanish parents to assist Wednesday mornings. Please contact me if you would like a spot on the volunteer schedule.
